One year ago I started an amazing journey at Zapier. I expected a lot, and still I got so much more than that (in a good way).
Everyone’s incredibly nice, grateful, thankful, helpful, and empathetic.
It sounds cliché, but it’s one of the things I most value here.
And it’s not even just the people I work with, but also our customers.
For a few years I haven’t doubted I was doing an amazing job, at whatever I was doing (I’m not saying I was doing flawless work, but it was bringing in a lot of value, and for me, part of doing a good job is learning new things and pushing boundaries, which implies errors and failures to learn more from).
Still, having someone thank me for my work on something specific feels amazing. I feel more valued. And it didn’t stop after a few months. It’s a habit. Our customers do a lot of that too.
Couple that with people who are extremely intelligent and experienced, and you get a terrific environment to thrive on.
I’ve learned so much in this past year, it’s crazy to think it’s only been a year. It feels like much more.
I’ve been able to learn, create, and share a lot of things, and for that, I have to thank everyone at Zapier, including our customers.
